In its first National event since the highly successful 2001 Canberra based rally, Australian Historic Motoring Federation (AHMF) is planning for a Major National Tour (2020 AHMF NATIONAL TOUR) with the intent of attracting Veteran, Vintage and Classic motoring clubs Australia wide.

Planning is well underway, venues have been selected and touring routes are well into the planning stage. The surrounding localities provide for spectacular drives for all classes of vehicle, to ensure the most inclusive event for all participants and their vehicles.

A most important aim is to provide opportunities for the public, local Schools and Community Groups to enjoy the spectacle of such a variety of historic vehicles. Local schools will provide morning teas and lunches, along with support services assisting these groups with funding and ensuring our Tour integrates with all Communities along each route.
Planning with these groups in mind, as well as Civic Events, has begun and a close liaison will be continued with the Albury and Wodonga City Councils.
A public display, viewing of Historic local Army and Immigrant facilities are also Highlights Entrants will have the opportunity to enjoy.

National Events are rare these days. The necessary planning and compliance demands have increased dramatically over the past few years, however it is the intention of Australian Historic Motoring Federation, Historic Motoring Australia’s peak support body, to provide a world class event for its Members and invited guests.

All state and territory councils should, by now, be promotion this event within their member clubs. The event will be promoted to International Clubs of similar purpose.

We are already in discussions with organisers and owners of historic caravans, ensuring we have a strong representation of historic caravans. Historic Motorcycles groups will also be encouraged to participate with some commitment already received.

They have indicated they want to participate with the other historic vehicles – but not on the road. The historic bikes will travel the same routes though travelling in the opposite direction or on different days to increase safety to all. Historic Tractors will also be taking part in our Public Display at Gateway Lakes.

The scope of this event and the planned interaction with all sectors of the Victorian and NSW public cannot be underestimated. It will be an important Event for the Australian Historic Movement and Partners, with Media Coverage, via print and television being sought daily.

The assistance of Victoria and New South Wales Police has been sought and cooperation there has been assured. Where necessary, the Organising team will be in daily communication with Police to ensure the best outcome for all.
Old Hume Highway’s Route 31 is a piece of history and we plan to be a part of bringing the Old Hume Highway back to life with entrants driving north and south to Albury-Wodonga via the Old Hume Highway.

Participants will be encouraged to travel to Albury-Wodonga from all States and Territories in a manner which will make this Event a worthy demonstration to the public and to State and Federal Governments that the Australian Motoring Enthusiast has preserved Australian Motoring History for themselves and all Australians and, in doing so, has supported and continues to support the Australian Economy on many levels.

Easter in the Country Rally - ROMA (10 Apr 2020)

Our Easter in the Country Rally is held at the same time as Roma's Easter in the Country Festival. There is some free time in our rally program to attend festival events. To celebrate National Motoring Heritage Day the Queensland Historic Motoring Council Inc will be hosting a Picnic in the Park. This event is held in Cameron Park, Ipswich and is free to attend. You do not need to register for the event.

Food, Drink, Coffee, Ice Cream, Entertainment, Trophies

Display your historic vehicle, have a fun day and “share the passion” with the public.

This event is at NO COST to you or your club.

PLEASE NOTE –If your club is erecting a marquee, there are to be NO PEGS OR STAKES INTO THE GROUND. Marquee’s must be weighted down, not pegged down.
